Gosh, starting to go to the gym was one of the hardest things for myself. I have played sports and been an athlete my entire life. I have played sports in front of hundreds of people, and only had the good type of nervous. But when I started to start my gym journey, it was terrible. I would go to the gym, see all the people inside, turn around and go back home. It was so hard for me to work out in front of other people. So let me tell you how I changed that.
To start, I found workout clothes that I felt comfortable in. This may seem silly, but if you are wearing clothes you’re uncomfortable in, you’re going to be uncomfortable working out in them. This helped me to believe that people wouldn’t look at me while I was working out and think that I don’t know what I’m doing.
Next, I created a workout plan. Going to the gym and knowing exactly what you’re going to do makes it so much easier. If you aren’t sure what exercises to do, look up YouTube videos or on Pinterest! I promise it helps!
Another thing that can really help you at the gym is having somebody to go with. There’s not only hold you accountable but makes you feel more comfortable. That way if you aren’t sure if you’re doing something right you can ask them to either reassure you are correct you. This can benefit you and help you from getting hurt as well!
The last large piece of advice that I give to you is to drink water. Drink a ton of water throughout your day to help you get through your work out. You can thank me later!
